Lampadina Table Lamp

Designer:
Achille Castiglioni, 1972

Manufacturer:
Flos, Italy

Materials:
Aluminum film reel for cord, electrical fixture

Notes:
The word "lampadina" means bulb in Italian. Something of a precursor to Ingo Maurer's revelation in using the bulb as design object, Castiglioni's Lampadina remains an affordable icon of design.

Aluminum audio tape reel, socket, partially-sanded light bulb. The bulb is sanded on one side to reduce glare. The tape reel base can be used to wrap up the electrical cord, and the holes can be used to mount the lamp on a wall.
